General Manager – New Service for Children and Young People

I am looking for a proven leader within social care provisions for a new role within children’s services to help develop and set up a new children’s provision within a specialist mental health service.
In this role you will work as a General Manager to help set up, register and develop a service for up to 22 children across 5 independent homes within a brand new development in Newmarket.
This is a fantastic opportunity and would suit someone who is determined that all children and young people should be living a happy and fulfilled life.
Duties for this role will include:
- Responsibility for the day to day activity of the site
- Working with colleagues across care, education and clinical to implement plans to support children and their journey
- Ensuring that the all policies and procedures are adhered to and that resources are managed effectively
- Liaising with Local Authorities, School, Health and other professionals to achieve best outcomes for young people
- Developing outstanding care plans and early interventions for children who struggle with their mental health and staying safe
- Establishing and monitoring high quality standards of care in line with the children’s homes regulations and quality standards and the Home’s Statement of Purpose and developing quality assurance measures to ensure these standards are maintained
For this role you must have:
- Experience as a Registered Manager
- Experience of mental health services offered to children and young people
- Proven experience of Ofsted and working within guidelines
- The ability to manage up to 5 other registered Managers
- NVQ4 in residential care (or equivalent) and/or a Level 5 qualification in management
- In-depth knowledge of Childcare legislation and Safeguarding
- An understanding of the needs of complex needs Children
- Experience of supervising and managing a staff team
- A full UK driving licence
