My client is an established Independent Fostering Agency based in Devon, who are looking for a Registered Fostering Manager to lead their team which covers the Devon and Cornwall areas.

Duties will include:

• Managing a team of Supervising Social Workers
• Working to ensure the promotion and maintenance of excellent relationships with local authorities.
• Managing the recruitment of safe, caring foster carers who are able to deliver an excellent service to children and young people placed, ensuring positive outcomes for children
• Ensuring any matters relating to the safeguarding of children are managed in line with regulations, national standards and best safeguarding practice

Essential criteria for the role of Registered Manager Fostering are:

• A Social Work qualification and HCPC registration
• A management qualification compliant with OFSTED requirements
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in foster-related social work and/or children’s social work
• 5 years’ experience of working in social work
• One year’s experience management experience (foster carers and a staff team)
• Excellent communication, management and leadership skills
• The ability to work under pressure
• A thorough knowledge of regulatory framework with an ability to apply this to practice
