Child Care Practitioner

£15,000 - £16,000 (plus up to £3,600 SI)

Our client has opened a new children’s home in the Wellingborough area and is looking for Residential Support Workers to join their team.

Duties will include:

• Working directly with children and young people ensuring that all their care needs are being met in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations. This will include care and domestic duties, accompanying young people to school and supporting them during the day as part of the team, night time sleeping-in duties
• Acting as key worker for one young person, including co-ordinating the achievement of personal plans, providing any necessary support
• Organising and participating in appropriate activities, play and recreation for the young people

For this exciting new role you must be able to demonstrate:

• Experience of working with young people (preferably in a residential setting)
• Effective communication skills including oral, written and body language
• The ability to work shifts on a rota basis, including sleeping-in
• A full UK driving licence
