Senior Day Carer

£9.00 - £9.50 per hour

I have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Carer to work in a busy day centre for older people. This is a 9-5 role (unusual in care!), and would suit someone who has experience of managing a staff team in a busy environment. As well as a day centre, the company provides a variety of other services, so you must be willing to muck in and help out when needed.

The main duties for this role will include:

• Supervising and participating in the delivery of support
• Leading on responsibility of clients’ support documentation ensuring a person centred approach
• Providing effective leadership for support staff through supervision, support and mentoring in all aspects of support
• Administration of medication
• Working effectively with others and any outside agencies to ensure clients’ needs are met

You must be able to demonstrate:

• Extensive experience in a health and social care setting working with older people
• A relevant NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent
• Experience of managing a staff team
• The ability to multi-task – no two days are the same
• An appetite for learning – management training will be available
• Ability to communicate and interact well with clients and others
• Good literacy, numeracy and computer skills
• Good basic support planning skills
• Full UK driving licence
