My client is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Team Manager to join their long-term children’s team. The post is based in a small Local Authority in the East Midlands which is best known for its beautiful countryside, small market towns and friendly people.
Duties for this post will include:
- Responsibility for the day to day management of services, including Safeguarding, Child in Need and Looked After Children
- Budget responsibility for c £600,000
- Directly line managing 6 members of staff – responsible for recruitment, 1-1s and performance management
- Assisting the Head of Service in leading and developing an integrated operational service through a matrix management approach
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families
- Ensuring that quality assurance and performance management targets are implemented
For the role of Team Manager you must be able to demonstrate:
- A relevant professional qualification and HCPC registration
- Management qualification at NVQ4 level (or equivalent)
- Extensive post qualifying experience
- Evidence of commitment to and development
- Management experience including managing change
- Budget management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good presentation skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work in partnership within the department, the authority and other agencies
- IT literate
- Ability to recognise discrimination and be proactive in ensuring the Council’s policy is put into practice
- Ability to be mobile and able to work from various locations
This role attracts a supplement of £5k along with excellent management support and the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of children, young people and their families.
