Registered Home Manager - Children & Young People EBD and challenging behaviour

Job Purpose:
To assist the Responsible Individual in the development, and to be responsible for managing a Registered Children’s Home in the Cambridgeshire area.
Key Tasks

To ensure that the home and staff operate in full accordance with all statutory, regulatory and standards requirements including:-
- Children Act 1989 & 2004
- Care Standards Act 2000
- Children’s homes regulations 2001
- National Minimum Standards - Children’s Homes
- To ensure that all children and young people have their needs meet, welfare promoted at all times and that they are safeguarded from any harm, abuse, neglect, exploitation
- To supervise the Assistant Managers, enabling them to supervise the staff team
- Responsible for ensuring that effective records are maintained in accordance with Children’s Home Regulations 2001 and associated Regulations and Standards
- Responsible for ensuring that effective rotas are prepared and followed and provide on call rota
- To be responsible for co-ordinating admissions and discharges for the home and responding flexibly to requests for service, within the context of individual agreements and the homes Statement of Purpose
- To deliver and co-ordinated service through effective liaison with Social Workers, other Professional staff/parents/carers in order to bring together the "Every Child Matters" agenda
- To work effectively with Commissioning Partner, Police LSCB and Ofsted
- To ensure staff receive support and supervisions in line with NMS - Children’s home
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience of working with Children in the last Five Years
- Degree, Dip.SW, RMA, NVQ4, Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management, OR the proven academic and managerial ability
- Ability to relate to/communicate with children
- Understanding Regulatory Frameworks including Children’s Home Regulations 2001 and National Minimum Standards
- Ability to identify the needs of looked after children and plan to meet their needs
