Support Worker

£18,540 - £20,315 per annum (£9.61 - £10.53 per hour)

I am looking for a special person to join a Supported Living service in Newark providing support to adults with mental health needs.

This is a varied role and will include:

• Provide practical support in all aspects of maintaining a home, including cooking, cleaning, laundry, bill payments and basic maintenance
• Providing help with budgeting and debt management
• Assisting with accessing education
• Providing tenancy related support
• Supporting with healthy lifestyles and substance misuse issues
• Writing and implementing support plans and risk assessments
• Liaising with a range of professionals including Social Workers, Mental Health professionals, the Police and other agencies

To be successful in this post you will need:

• Experience of supporting people
• A ‘can do’ attitude
• The ability to help and care for people
• Fantastic communication skills
• Adaptability and the ability to motive people
• The ability to provide person-centred support
• Flexibility - the service is open 7 days a week, including bank holidays on a mixed shift basis which are typically 07:00-14:15 and 14:00 - 22:00.   The rota which sleep-in and waking night shifts (additional enhancements paid for these)
