Registered Manager – Children and Young People

£37,500 - £42,500 dependent upon experience and qualifications

 

I am acting on behalf of a small, independent residential child care company who offer bespoke, high quality care and support to young adolescents who are ‘looked after’.  They are currently looking for a Registered Manager for their 4 bedded home in East Northamptonshire, which is rated as Outstanding with Ofsted.

In this role you will expected to:

• Manage the home and its staff on a day-to-day basis in all areas of residential childcare in line with the homes statement of purpose, company policies and procedures and Regulatory guidance
• Monitor the development of staff, identifying and delivering any identified training needs
• Liaise with placing authorities to provide them with all relevant information
• Ensure that discharges from the home are managed appropriately and sensitively
• Provide a caring, supportive and enabling environment where young people can learn and develop to their full potential
• Chair and participate in meetings with young people, social workers, Independent Reviewing Officers (IRO’s) and other professionals as and when required

The successful applicant for this role must have:

• NVQ level 4 Leadership and Management of Care Services or QCF Diploma Level 5 (or equivalent), or the commitment to undertake and gain this qualification within regulatory timescales
• The ability to undertake the application to become a Registered Manager with Ofsted and pass ‘fit persons’ interview
• At least 2 years’ experience of working in a senior position in residential child care (
• A full manual driving licence is essential as the role will involve transporting the young people to various destinations
• The ability to work a rota pattern including evenings, weekends bank holidays, Christmas etc. as requested
