Registered Home Manager – Children’s Home

I am looking for an experienced Children’s Home Manager to run a brand new 3 bedded children’s home. This is a great role and would suit someone who really wants to make a difference to the outcomes of children and young people in care who have emotional and behavioural difficulties, as well as being involved with the opening of the home from the very beginning.
Duties for the Registered Manager’s role will include:
- Leading by example and maintaining good professional practices in accordance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
- Helping to create a supportive and positive environment for each young person with particular reference to their safety, health and education
- Ensuring the quality standards for children’s homes are maintained
- Ensuring that the safeguarding of all young people underpins every decision made
- Promoting positive outcomes for young people
- Complying with relevant health and safety legislation, policy and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post
- Taking part in an on call rota and being available for telephone advice as necessary
For this role you must have:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young Peoples Services (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards it
- Experience of supervising or managing a residential children’s setting
- Previous ratings with Ofsted of ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’
- Experience of managing a staff team and managing staff rotas
- Excellent communication skills and a ‘can do’ attitude
