Highly Specialist Practitioner (Applied Psychologist)

Our client provides specialist therapeutic care and education to young people aged between 10 and 18 who, due to previous trauma and/or neglect, have a range of complex needs. Due to continued expansion they are now looking for a Highly Specialist Practitioner (Applied Psychologist) to work with young people they support.
Duties will include:
- Providing clinical assessment, professional consultation and training to support the planning, delivery and evaluation of psychological and therapeutic assessment and interventions
- Providing functional analysis, intervention and consultation for young people who display sexually harmful or problematic behaviour
- Working within a multi-disciplinary professional team to deliver and promote positive outcomes for young people in a context of sound and effective risk management
Essential criteria for this interesting and complex role include:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, and meets requirements for graduate basis for registration with the British Psychological Society
- Holds postgraduate qualification at Masters or Doctorate level in psychology specialism (clinical, counselling, forensic psychology)
- Registered with Health & Care Professionals Council as a practitioner psychologist
- Post qualification experience in applying psychological models of assessment and intervention in various settings, including working with clients with complex needs, mental health issues and/or high risk profiles/behaviour
- Experience of working with adolescents
- Sound knowledge of the development, assessment, treatment and risk management of sexually abusive and sexually aggressive behaviours in young people
- Full manual driving license
