FEMALE SUPPORT WORKER

BURTON ON TRENT

£10 per hour

My client is looking for an experienced Female Support Worker to work with a 23 year old fun-loving young lady with cerebral palsy and associated learning difficulties who uses a wheelchair. For this role you will need to be energetic, enthusiastic and able to support this young lady with all aspects of her personal and social needs.

Duties for the role of Female Support Worker will include:

• Working at the family home, and in the community around the Burton-on-Trent area
• Assisting and encouraging the client with her chosen tasks, hobbies and interests
• Ensuring all care needs are met (personal and domestic)
• Working with the therapy team to set and achieve goals for independence and assisting with therapeutic programmes

Criteria for this role include:

• Excellent communication skills - be a good listener, chatty and friendly
• Creativity and an imaginative thinker with a flair for crafts
• Previous experience of working with young adults with a high level of care needs is desirable; NVQ level 2 or equivalent would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided
• Car driver desirable as the client uses an adapted vehicle
• No pet allergies - pets are in the household
• Availability to work Monday to Friday midday to 1600 (20 hours a week)
