Approved Mental Health Professional/Senior Social Work Practitioner

£45,441 - £48,474 (plus enhancements)
I am looking for AMHP’s to undertake Mental Health Act Assessments as part of a rolling rota shift pattern as well as the role of the lead practitioner on a shift, using your specialist knowledge to triage work coming into the hub. You will be working within a service where the emphasis is the delivery of a timely, responsive and legally compliant intervention, following requests for a Mental Health Act assessment.
For this fabulous post you must have:
- A registered qualified professional (Social Work, Nurse, OT, psychologist)
- Current authorisation as an AMHP
- Extensive knowledge of and be able to apply, a range of complex and specialist legislation i.e. the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, Children Act and other relevant case law
- A valid UK driving licence
- Extensive experience of working independently undertaking MHA assessments
- The ability to utilise effective communication skills to negotiate, guide, advise and enable customers to engage with assessments and discussion about their presenting care needs
- The ability to think creatively under pressure, measured and reasoned in response and decision
- The ability to manage conflict and operate in high risk and high[1]pressure environments
We have 2 permanent dedicated Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) Hub Senior Social Work Practitioner posts available as follows:
- Rolling rota AMHP. Working an 8 week repeating pattern that essentially consists of 7-3 shifts one week and 2-10pm another and includes some weekend hours, bank holidays (additional pay when worked) with an enhancement of 18%
- AMHP Monday – Friday 2-10pm. This is paid a fixed enhancement of £4,471.56 per annum paid monthly at £372.63
Each of these roles will involve a combination of going out to assess under MHA and working as a lead to take referrals and triage / prioritise according to risk. The base location for these roles are Bridge House, Worthing but generally these roles are remote working and covers the whole of West Sussex. Please note that a Relocation Allowance of £8,000 (tax free) is available if qualifying criteria is met.
